PURPOSE:To recover the heat energy of a blast furnace and to make effective use thereof without using a costly installation by connecting heat exchangers respectively provided on the inlet side of a wet type dust collector for the blast furnace gas and hot stove gaseous fuel pipeline by a circulation line for a heat medium. CONSTITUTION:The blast furnace gas is conducted in a blast furnace gas downcomer line 2 of the blast furnace 1 into a dust catcher 3 where coarse-grained dust is removed from the gas. The blast furnace gas is then passed through the 1st heat exchanger 10 and is precooled; thereafter, the gas is subjected to removal of the dust down to the fine-grained dust by the wet type dust collector 4. The cleaned blast furnace gas obtd. in the above-mentioned manner is conducted to a furnace top turbine 5 to drive the same and the high-pressure energy retained by the same is recovered by a generator 6. The blast furnace gas is thereafter once stored in a gas holder 7. The gas is passed through the 2nd heat exchanger 11 provided to the hot stove gaseous fuel pipeline 8 in the stage of using the gas as fuel for a hot stove 9. The above-mentioned 1st and 2nd heat exchangers 10, 11 are connected by the circulation pipeline 12 and the heat medium stored in a tank 14 is circulated by a pump 13 and the gaseous fuel is preheated by the heat received in the 1st heat exchanger 10.
