The invention relates to a thermometer operating according to the principle of evaporation and having a casing and at least one transparent bulb which is open at one end which is diposed therein, and which contains a vapourisable liquid and with a scale for reading the mass of the liquid evaporated from the bulb. According to the invention, the internal surface area of the bulb 17, 18 is smaller than the surface of a circle of radius 4.0 mm.
