PURPOSE:To obtain an information recording and reproducing device with a large capacity and high density inexpensively by sticking ink to a recording medium whose print face is made of paper record information and using an optical head so as to reproduce the information recorded on the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:When a recording data is fed from a host computer, a control section 32 applies drive control to linear motor drivers 34, 35 in response to a track number for the recording. The control section 32 controls an ink jet driver 37 in response to the recording data and ink is injected from an ink jet device 4 in response to the information to be recorded and stuck onto the paper 1a of the disk 1 to form a recording bit. In the case of reproduction, the control section 32 drives the linear motor driver 34 in response to the reproducing track number from the host computer to generate laser light from the optical head 3. A reflected light in response to the presence of the recording of information is obtained from the disk 1 and a reproducing signal is fed to the control section 32 via a read section 31.
