<p>A method and an apparatus for continuously casting metal objects include a plurality of molds (38, 40, 42, 44 and 46) arranged in a substantially vertical column (45) and which collectively define a mold cavity (92). Each mold is separable into at least two mold sections (38a, 38b). A retaining mechanism retains the molds (38, 40, 44 and 46) in the vertical column (45). Preferably, first and second arm mechanisms (98, 100) separate the bottom mold section into halves and move the bottom mold sections to the top of the column.</p> |
