<p>For the maintenance of the work stations (25) of spinning or twisting machines (2) by means of several maintenance units (40) travelling along the work stations (25), in the event of the inspection of a maintenance unit (40) being necessary, the maintenance unit to be inspected is brought into an inspection position, transverse to its travelling direction, in which also its side to be maintained, turned to the machine, is accessible and its working track is cleared for another maintenance unit. Then, another maintenance unit travels into the cleared working track and takes over the maintenance of the work stations until, after completion of the inspection, the inspected maintenance unit (40) is again brought back from its inspection position into its working track and again takes over the maintenance of the work stations (25) of this working track. For this, a section of the running rail is movable transversely to its longitudinal direction. By means of a control device the remaining maintenance units are brought into operation for the maintenance of those spinning stations which the maintenance unit (40) brought into the inspection position would have maintained.</p> |
