In order, in the case of an extractor hood having a housing which is closed at the top, is open at the bottom and on one side of which is arranged an incoming-air chamber which is open to the interior of the housing via a slot-shaped outlet opening in a side wall separating the incoming-air chamber from the interior, and having an outgoing-air chamber which is arranged on the side of the housing opposite the incoming-air chamber and has a suction opening which is closed by means of a filter and points towards the interior of the housing, to improve the lamina flow of the air flow emerging from the incoming-air chamber, it is proposed that the slot-shaped outlet opening in the side wall of the incoming-air chamber is provided, on the inside of the incoming-air chamber, with two guide walls which adjoin the longitudinal edges of the outlet opening, run parallel to the slot-shaped opening and form a flow shaft which narrows in the outflow direction and is arranged in front of the slot-shaped outlet opening. <IMAGE>
