A tool for serving looms of cables comprises an outlet for feeding the cable serving material and tongs or claws for holding the loom of cables during the serving process. To obtain a fully automated serving of looms of cables, it is essential that the tool (pistol) be provided with a securing flange, a pneumatic cylinder (outlet cylinder) for driving the outlet and a pneumatic cylinder for driving the tongs (3, 4). The pneumatic cylinders can be controlled by the robot. It is particularly advantageous to provide an intermediate flange on the securing flange to secure the tool to an automatic manipulator or to an interchangeable tool device. |
