PURPOSE:To realize the miniaturization and low cost of the titled machine by driving a read section at least thrice in color sequential and driving a recording section being an output section at least thrice in the color sequential nearly synchronizing with the read section. CONSTITUTION:A read color control circuit 2 selects one of the three primary colors (blue, green, red) of the spectrum optical system by a command of the start of copy from a console 1 and a recording section 9 selects the recording color to a complementary color of the set color. Then the read of several lines, the processing operation and the recording of several lines are repeated by one page to complete the copying of one color. Then the spectrum optical system of the read color control circuit 2 is set to one of the remaining two colors in the three primary colors and the recording color of the recording section 9 is set to its complementary color. One page is copied to the color and then finished. Finally, the spectrum optical system of the read section is set to the remaining color in the three primary colors, the recording color is selected as its complementary color and one page is copied. Thus, the read picture information is recorded immediately and a huge color picture page memory is not required.
