<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of an unusual sound by rotating a motor slowly while on output voltage maintains a certain low value and absorbing backlash generated between a rack and a pinion. CONSTITUTION:When a handle 1 is held neutral while traveling, a steering torque is not generated and a signal voltage V4 becomes zero without driving a motor (m). When the handle 1 is rotated in a plus direction, a signal voltage V4 is generated. As the voltage V4 reaches a set voltage V0, the motor (m) is accordingly rotated while, at this time, however, a delay circuit 16 functions to maintain the voltage V0 for a defined time T0. Accordingly, the motor (m) is rotated at a low voltage during this time T0. Due to the rotation of the motor (m) at such a low voltage, the rattle corresponding to backlash of a reduction gear 9 can be absorbed during that time.</p> |
