PURPOSE:To prevent a shoal engaging part from becoming a shoal navigating condition against the will of an operator under a navigating condition with a tilt lock being released by providing a resilient body in between a supporting part provided on a swivel bracket and a connecting part provided on a tilt arm. CONSTITUTION:In an outboard motor 10, a clamp bracket 12 is fixed to a stern board 11 and a swivel bracket 14 is supported inclinedly movably on the bracket 12 via a tilt shaft 13. A tilt arm 30 is rotatably supported in the opening 15A of a supporting part 15 of a swivel bracket 14 via a supporting shaft A, and the arm 30 has a lock claw part 33 with which a lock pin 31 is engaged to hold a propelling unit 17 in a tilt down position. The direction of a turning force which acts on the arm 30 when a resilient body 35 in between a supporting part B and a connecting part C is positioned on one dead point, is made opposite to the direction of a turning force which acts on the arm 30 when the resilient body 35 is positioned on the other dead point. |
