<p>PURPOSE:To enable a recording medium to be easily inserted into a recording part, by providing a mechanism whereby a pressure exerted by a pressing member for pressing the recording medium against the recording part can be varied. CONSTITUTION:A photographic printing paper is fed in the direction of an arrow A by feeding rollers 5, and is guided by a guide plate 6 into a gap between a pressing plate 2 and a recording part 1a of an FOT 1. Immediately before this time point, the leading end of the paper is detected by a photosensor 11, when a moving mechanism 8 is operated to retract the plate 2 from the recording part 1a, whereby the pressure exerted on the surface of the FOT 1 is reduced to zero, and a gap is formed between the plate 2 and the recording part 1a. The gap is preferably about 0-6mm. Therefore, the leading end of the paper being fed is easily guided into the gap between the recording part 1a and the plate 2. The pressing plate 2 is retracted from the FOT 1 when the paper approaches the plate 2, thereby enabling the paper to be easily introduced, and the plate 2 presses the paper against the FOT 1 when the paper is located just on the front side of the recording part 1a of the FOT 1. Accordingly, the paper is securely guided into the gap between the recording part and the pressing plate, and is securely pressed against the recording part.</p> |
