The mutually facing ends of a cover tube in a device for joining lighting busway cover tubes having a longitudinal slot are joined by means of a connecting piece which has approximately the same outer contour and consists of segments which are held capable of rotating relative to one another about their respective central longitudinal axis and whose mutually averted end faces are situated in a plane extending transverse to the longitudinal axis and whose mutually facing end faces enclose an oblique angle with the respective other end face. In order to permit the most varied angular positions with such a device, principally in a plane, it is proposed that the connecting piece has between the two segments (2, 3) a further segment (4) whose two end faces enclose with one another an angle which is twice as large as the oblique angle of the end faces of the other segments (2, 3).
