摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent drivability from deteriorating, by constituting an engine brake to be uncontrollable and eliminating a deceleration shock due to an engine brake control when an engine is in a high speed region for a long time in the case of a subtransmission part being placed in a low speed gear shift. CONSTITUTION:In an electronic control unit 100 constituted of a microprocessor, the control unit 100, which processes detection signals from a throttle sensor 90, engine speed sensor 92, input shaft speed sensor 94 and an output shaft speed sensor 96, performs a gear shift switching control of a subtransmission and an engine brake control of a vehicle when it is in coast running. Hereupon a shift lever 86, in relation to a running condition of the vehicle, is controlled to an automatic speed change range, where a gear shift of the subtransmission part is automatically switched, and in case of said subtransmission part being in a low speed gear shift, an engine brake is constituted so that no execution of its control is permitted. Consequently, when an engine is in a high speed region already for a relatively long time with the gear shift in a low speed, a deceleration shock caused by an engine brake control can be eliminated.
