Seal for a moving component, having a sealing ring which is held in contact with the moving component, a slip ring, sliding surface or the like, by prestressed spring elements. In this seal, one or more adjacent spring rings with oblique pressure surfaces interact in clamping engagement with a mating pressure surface of the same slope on the sealing ring and thereby produce a sealing pressure, cf.
