PURPOSE:To transmit power smoothly and reliably by interposing the second buffer spring member adapted to act later than the first buffer spring member between a main pressure plate and a subsidiary pressure plate. CONSTITUTION:A subsidiary pressure plate 10 is disposed with a fixed gap in the axial direction on the outside surface 12 of a main pressure plate for pressing a friction plate 2 of a clutch disc 1 to the end surface of a fly wheel 4, and fixed by the first buffer spring member 6 for generating low load in such a manner as to move in the axial direction. Secondly, the second buffer spring member 14 for generating high load, which is adapted to act later than the first buffer spring member 6, is interposed between the opposite side surfaces of both pressure plates 5, 10. Thus, at the initial stage of clutch connection, smooth frictional contact without shock can be accomplished to transmit power smoothly and reliably.
