PURPOSE:To enable quick cell cloning without the aid of a manipulator, etc., by successively assigning the position of a television monitor by a position input device and irradiating a laser beam to kill the cells to the cells in the assigned positions. CONSTITUTION:The cell cluster to be cloned is put into a culture vessel 11. The culture vessel 11 is movably supported on the plane perpendicular to the optical axis of an objective lens of a microscope by a sample moving base driving device 12. Light from a light source 14 for illumination illuminates the cell group of the culture vessel 11 via a condenser 13. A dichroic mirror 9 reflects the light introduced into a lens barrel from a laser light source 10 to the objective lens 8a side and allows the transmission of the light of the cell group from the objective lens. The image of the cell group magnified by the objective lens 8a of the microscope 8 is converted to a television signal by a camera controller 2 photographed by a television camera 1 and is projected on a television monitor 3. The cells are successively assigned on the monitor 3 by a light pen 5, by which the corresponding cells are killed.
