PURPOSE:To enhance washing efficiency by omitting a rotary mechanism, in an apparatus for washing the outer peripheral surface of pillar-shaped or columnar matter, by injecting a washing solution from a slit shaped groove and obliquely setting the jet angle of said washing solution. CONSTITUTION:A ring shaped body 10 is constituted of a combination of an upper ring-shaped member 10A and a lower ring-shaped member 10B. A jet groove 11 is inclined downwardly so as to make the washing solution easy to flow. The high pressure washing solution is guided to a washing solution chamber 13 and injected therefrom in a film form through a jet orifice 11. The washing solution is formed into a downwardly directed umbrella-shaped film to wash the outer peripheral surface of a body 1 to be washed. It is unnecessary to rotate the ring-shaped body and the body 1 to be washed can be washed only by moving said ring-shaped body 10 up and down.
