PURPOSE:To obtain a painted article having a uniform thickness, by removing excessive paint by the sucking stream at the take-out port of a painting body by reducing the pressure in a painting box. CONSTITUTION:A base material is supplied to the direction shown by an arrow A from a supply port 11 and passes through a painting box 10 to be taken out to the direction by an arrow B from a take-out port 12. Air is sucked inside the take-out port 12 and the supply port 11 by a pressure reducing means and paint is not flooded from both ports. The base material is immersed in the paint in the painting box 10 and the paint is applied to the entire surface of the base material. The excessive paint is removed at the take-out port 12 by a sucking air stream to obtain a uniform film thickness. The painted article issued from the take-out port 12 is subsequently dried to a dryness to the touch degree. The base material may be supported by a guide means 70.
