PURPOSE:To obtain the titled aq. polymer soln. which is stable in an aq. soln. having a high salt concn. over a wide temp. range of room temp. to a high temp., by adding 2-mercapto-2-thiazoline to an acrylamide polymer. CONSTITUTION:0.01-20wt% 2-mercapto-2-thiazoline of the formula (wherein X is H, an alkali metal, ammonium or an org. amine) is added to an acrylamide polymer. In this way, an aq. soln. of an acrylamide polymer, which is stable even in an aq. soln. having a salt concn. of as high as 10% or higher at a temp. of as high as 80-90 deg.C, can be obtd.
