PURPOSE:To effectively transmit to a facsimile equipment of the A4 size or more from the facsimile equipment of the A5 size by inserting a Huffman code corresponding to the difference in the number of bits for one line of the A4 size and the A5 size between a line completion signal and picture data of the next line. CONSTITUTION:Whether the final picture data of the respective lines of the picture data of the A5 size is the data indicating 'white' or the data indicating 'black' is checked, and when the final picture data of the one line is 'black', the Huffman code representing white run length for 574 bits is inserted between the picture data and an EOL code to perform a transmission processing.
