A device (10) for indicating the degree of inflation of a cuff (18) of an endotracheal tube (12) when positioned within the trachea of a human patient. The device is connected to a cuff-inflating tube (22) of the endotracheal tube and incorporates a flexible diaphragm (36) which flexes in response to air pressure in the cuff. The diaphragm (36) carries an indicating stem(50) which protrudes from the device casing (38,30) when the diaphragm (36) flexes, indicating the degree of pressure in the cuff. A syringe (28) may be attached to the device to introduce more air and maintain correct inflation of the cuff. |
