In the production of formed food products (44) conventionally a mixing apparatus (4, 4a) is provided by which health-promoting constituents such as vitamins, medicaments and the like may be added. However, the thermal treatment, e.g. by addition of steam from a steam injector (5), associated with the forming process and the mechanical stress lead to extensive destruction of these constituents, so it is proposed that these constituents should only be added after forming by applying the health-promoting constituent to the surface of the formed products (44). An installation for carrying out this process has for this purpose a mixing apparatus (19) that is disposed after the corresponding forming apparatus (2, 2a). Such a mixing apparatus is preferably designed as a spraying drum (19) having a spraying apparatus (20) for the health-promoting constituent. <IMAGE> |
