A method of color image formation is disclosed, comprising imagewise exposing a color photographic light-­sensitive material comprising a reflective support having provided thereon at least one light-sensitive layer containing a color coupler capable of forming a color image upon coupling with an oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine developing agent and a silver halide emulsion, and pro­cessing the exposed light-sensitive material with a color developing solution containing substntially no benzyl alcohol within a development time of 2 minutes and 30 seconds, wherein said processing is carried out in the presence of at least one compound represented by formula
