The axially movable camshaft 15 has cams 16 and 17 which act on the valve member 2 through a tranmission lever 11 pivotally mounted on a valve bucket 5 fixedly attached to the stem 3 of the valve member. A biasing spring 14 or springs serve to pre-load one side of the transmission lever 11 in order to hold the lever operatively engaged with profile adjusters 18, 19 of the cams. The cams 16 and 17 may be of similar profile but out of phase or in phase and of different profiles so that axial camshaft movement varies the timing or lift of valve opening. <IMAGE> |
