SILVER HALIDE PHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide emulsion layer suppressed in yellow stains due to humidity and heat during storage by incorporating a magenta coupler and a specified compound in at least one of said emulsion layers. CONSTITUTION:At least one of the silver halide emulsion layers of a silver halide photographic sensitive material formed on a support contains the magenta coupler and the compound represented by the formula I in which each of R1 and R2 is H, an aliphatic or aromatic group, or they may combine with each other to form a cyclic aliphatic group; R3 is an aliphatic or aromatic group; R4 is H, an aliphatic or aromatic group, or -(J2)n-COOR5; R5 is an aromatic group; each of J1 and J2 is a divalent bonding group; and each of m and n is 0 or 1. The magenta coupler is represented by formula II in which Z is a nonmetallic atomic group necessary to form an N-containing ring; X is H or a substituent to be released by reaction with the oxidation product of a color developing agent; and R is H or a substituent.
