PURPOSE:To obtain a material quality having superior castability similar to cast iron and rust resistance similar to stainless cast steel in addition to superior wear resistance by adjusting composition and structure of rust resisting cast steel for disk brake rotor. CONSTITUTION:As disk brake rotor material for automobile, cast steel having compsn. composed of, by weight 0.5-1.5% C, 2.5-3.5% Si, <=0.7% Mn, <=0.07% P, <=0.1% S, 5.0-10.0% Cr, 8.0-15.0% Ni, 2.0-5.0% V and the balance Fe, and structure in which hard secondary carbide of <=1.5mum particle diameter and lump and round carbonitrides of V of <=1.5mum diameter are dispersed in austenite matrix is used. The titled cast steel having both castability and productivity similar to conventional gray cast iron and corrosion resistance similar to conventional stainless steel, further superior wear resistance and weak characteristic in aggressiveness to opposite material is obtd.
