METHOD FOR PREVENTING HYDROGEN EMBRITTLEMENT OF MEMBER

PURPOSE:To effectively prevent the hydrogen embrittlement of a member placed in a corrosive environment by bringing nascent oxygen into contact with the member. CONSTITUTION:In a BWR plant, low pressure turbines 4 are connected to a power generator 7 through a shaft and a hydrogen peroxide sensor 10 is set in a pipe extended from a moisture separator 5. The sensor 10 always monitors the concn. of hydrogen peroxide and outputs a control signal to a hydrogen peroxide injector 9. The injector 9 injects hydrogen peroxide into a part on the downstream side of a high pressure turbine 2 and on the upper stream side of the low pressure turbines 4 so as to regulate the concn. of hydrogen peroxide to 0.01-100ppm. Thus, hydrogen embrittlement in the line is prevented.
