PURPOSE:To allow a fire grate to operate surely without subjected to damage even if solid fuel generating a small amount of ashes such as coke and rubber tire is burnt by installing a rotating stoker which rotates in a horizontal plane and serves as the fir grate place at the lower part of a burning chamber. CONSTITUTION:A circular late-shaped metal rotating stoker 14 placed at the lower part of a burning chamber 1 is supported horizontally by a plurality of supporting rollers 15 and is able to be rotated by a suitable driving means in a horizontal plane. Solid fuel 3 is loaded on the upper surface of the stoker 14 from a hopper 4 through a supply conveyer 5 and is burnt by primary air in horizontally rotated state accompanying the rotation of the stoker. Then, a part of ashes 7 generated by the burning is dropped down by an ash dropping means 17 into an ash discharge chute 8 to be discarded. However, remaining ashes are held on the upper surface of the stoker 14 in a layer having the same thickness as that of a slit 16 to protect the stoker from fire flame 16 in an insulating condition. Therefore, the damage of the stoker is able to be prevented.
