PURPOSE:To cope easily with various type of works having different hole positions without varying the position of a guide bush by moving the guide bush and a gun drill integrally. CONSTITUTION:A control unit 24 will move a first table 2, a supporting table 4 and a second table 5 respectively in the directions of X, Y and Z, thus moving a gun drill 16 to a predetermined position. A work is stopped in front of the gun drill 16 and secured thereto, then bored by means of the gun drill 16 penetrating through a guide bush 23 which is kept in contact with the work. Since the guide bush 23 will move integrally with the gun drill 16, the deep boring machine can cope easily with various type of works having different hole positions.
