PURPOSE:To permit automatic closing of a tap hole and to provide stabilization of operation and prevention of generation of dust from the tap hole by continuously measuring the change of the components in the generated gas from the tap hole and predicting the time for closing of the tap hole in accordance with the measured value thereof. CONSTITUTION:The gas in the tap hole 2 of a blast furnace is filtered by a filter 11 and the concn. of CO2, SOx and NO2 is measured by a meter 12a. The concn. of O2 is continuously measured by a meter 12b. The concn. of CO2 is corrected by a calculator 13. The timing for closing the tap hole 2 is transmitted to a driving device 9 of a mud gun 8 from the change of the concns. of the respective gaseous components to automatically close the tap hole 2. Abnormal tapping is predicted by the calculator in accordance with the calculated value. The timing for closing the tap hole 2 is transmitted to a dust collector 15 in accordance with the concns. of the gaseous components after the calculation to automatically control a damper 14 or to control the air quantity of a dust collecting fan.
