PURPOSE:To prevent the overflow of drain surely by a method wherein a drain pump is driven based on a detecting signal from a drain amount detecting means when a signal showing an abnormality is inputted from a transmitting condition deciding means. CONSTITUTION:A drain pump driving signal is transmitted from an indoor unit 1. The control of an outdoor unit 2 is effected by inputting a signal, transmitted through a transmission line 6, into a transmitting condition deciding unit 61 and a control unit 62, driving various actuators. A deciding signal from the transmitting condition deciding unit 61 and a signal from a float switch 24 are inputted into a drain pump driving unit 63 and a driving signal from the driving unit 63 is supplied to a drain pump 25. According to this method, the driving of the drain pump 25 is controlled based on a control signal from the indoor unit 1 when signal transmission is being effected normally, therefore, overflow may be prevented while the indoor unit 2 controls the driving of the drain pump 25 so as to cope with the condition of the float switch 24 when the signal transmission is abnormal, therefore, overflow may also be prevented.
