A device for the connection of a helical compression spring to the suspension link of a wheel suspension for motor vehicles. In order to prevent bending tensions on the helical compression spring the helical compression spring (1) is supported on the suspension link (2) by way of a support element (1a), which is mounted in a bearing (3) fixed on the suspension link (2) so that it can swivel freely on the suspension link about a predetermined angle to the normal onto the support plane (E). In an embodiment of especially simple design the spring wire of the helical compression spring is led inwards to the centre axis (M) of the spring in a spiral and the end (1a) of the spring wire bent off at right angles and led out axially from the end of the helical compression spring (1). The end (1a) of the spring wire itself, which with its end face (1c) having a tapered depression, sits on a ball (14) inserted in a bearing shell (3), serves as support element. <IMAGE>
