PURPOSE:To make the prevention of an accelerating shock and the reduction of suction resistance at the time of high-load driving both compatible, by opening the on-off valve installed in an interconnecting passage to a surge tank at the time of engine acceleration, and setting the duration of opening this valve to be longer at the side of acceleration from low speed and low load than from high speed and high load. CONSTITUTION:A surge tank 4 is installed in the shape of being connected to a suction passage 1 via an interconnecting passage 5, while an on-off valve 6 is installed in this interconnecting passage 5 which is opened or closed by this valve. And, since this on-off valve 5 is control by a control unit 16 so as to be opened at the time of engine acceleration, hesitation at acceleration is prevented from occurring. In addition, since at the time of acceleration from low speed and low load, the duration of the on-off valve 6 being opened is controlled so as to become longer than that of acceleration from high speed and high load, an engine output drop with an increase in suction resistance is possible to hold it down to the minimum.
