摘要 |
PURPOSE:To obtain laser light which is generated by a laser light source and has large light power itself and facilitate a read of an image with high sensitivity, and to reduce deterioration in the sharpness of the image due to the read by using a quantum well semiconductor laser as the readout light source. CONSTITUTION:The laser light A emitted by the quantum well semiconductor laser light source 1 is collimated by a collimator lens 7 and so irradiated through a laser light deflecting means 2 and an ftheta lens 8 as to make a main linear scan breadthwise on a radiation image conversion panel 4 which uses a stimulable phosphor as a radiation image recording medium held on the top surface of a subscanning means 3 installed at the lower part. The subscanning means 3 is moved relatively almost at right angles to the direction of main scanning lines. The laser light source 1 has the quantum well semiconductor laser 11 fitted to a copper block 15 fixed to a cooler 14 arranged in an external housing 13 having a window 12. The quantum well semiconductor laser 11 has a quantum well of double hetero structure formed by sandwiching an extremely thin film semiconductor layer between semiconductor layers larger in inhibition band width than said layer or a multiple quantum well formed by laminating said well plural times as a light emission area.
