PURPOSE:The titled water and oil repellent agent, consisting of a specific compound containing polyfluoroalkyl group, having high-degree of water and oil repellency and high desoiling property of hardly sticking dirt and readily releasing once stuck dirt. CONSTITUTION:A water and oil repellent agent consisting of a compound, constituted of (A) at least 2 terminal constituents containing polyfluoroalkyl group and (B) intermediate constituents linking the components (A) and having 800-20,000mol.wt. The component (A) has at least one polyfluoroalkyl group, preferably 4-16C perfluoroalkyl group linked through -CONH- linking groups and is expressed by, e.g. formula I. The component (B) is an urethane oligomer containing at least 2 above-mentioned linking groups and a hydrophilic molecular chain. The above-mentioned compound contains the components (A) and (B) linked through the above-mentioned linking groups and, e.g. a compound expressed by formula II. A monofunctional residue obtained by removing the residual -NCO group from a compound prepared from a polyfunctional isocyanate compound, etc., is preferred for the component (A).
