PURPOSE:To obtain a composition giving a coating film having excellent physical properties and yellowing resistance and useful as paint, adhesive, etc., by compounding a specific vinyl copolymer containing tert-amino group with a polyepoxide compound and a compound having both hydroxyl group and carboxyl group. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be produced by compounding (A) a vinyl polymer containing a tert-amino group and obtained by reacting (i) a vinyl polymer having carboxylic acid anhydride group and optionally carboxyl group [e.g. a copolymer of maleic anhydride, (meth)acrylic acid and (meth)acrylic acid ester, etc.] with (ii) a compound having a tert-amino group and an active hydrogen atom reactive with the carboxylic acid anhydride group of the polymer (i) (e.g. dimethylaminoethanol) with (B) a polyepoxide compound and (C) a compound having both hydroxyl group and carboxyl group (e.g. lactic acid, malic acid, etc.). The amount of the component C is preferably 0.5-5wt% based on the component A.
