PURPOSE:To receive a facsimile automaticaly even when no operators are present around an equipment by constituting a device so that a subscriber's line is connected to a terminal equipment when no off-hook state is detected within a prescribed time from the first detection of a call signal. CONSTITUTION:When an incoming from a subscriber's line L is received, the presence/absence of a ringing (call signal) sending from the subscriber's line L to a signal line 8 is detected, and when the ringing is detected, a counter 18 is operated thereby and the number (n) of the ringings is counted. When the number (n) of ringings counted by the counter 18 exceeds the prescribed number of N, it is checked whether a state is in the off-hook state or not to prevent a malfunction. When it is in the off-hook state, a switch 12 is left being connected to a telephone set 6. When it is not in the off-hook state, the switch 12 is switched to a facsimile equipment main body 4.
