PURPOSE:To provide high sensitivity and to improve the graininess by using a compound releasing a fogging agent, a development accelerator or a precursor thereof in accordance with the amount of silve developed. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide color photographic sensitive material is produced by forming photographic constituent layers including at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer on a support. At this time, the silver halide emulsion layer contains silver halide having a crystal face defined by Miller indices (110) on the outer surface. The silver halide is practically silver bromide and/or silver iodobromide. At least one of the photographic constituent layers contains a compound (FR compound) releasing a fogging agent, a development accelerator or a precursor thereof in accordance with the amount of silver developed when the silver halide is developed with an aromatic primary amine developing agent. A compound represented by the formula (where R1 is H, <=15C optionally substituted alkyl, <=20C optionally substituted aryl or a heterocyclic group) is preferably used as a substance accelerating the growth of (110) crystal face (crystal controlling compound). |
