PURPOSE:To obtain a pickling soln. easily forming a mat finished surface on a Ti alloy plate and keeping the amount of hydrogen absorbed in the plate small by preparing an aqueous soln. contg. specified percentages of nitric acid, hydrogen fluoride and a foaming agent. CONSTITUTION:A pickling soln. having a composition consisting of 5-13wt% nitric acid, 1-5wt% hydrogen fluoride, 0.1-1wt% foaming agent such as sodium laurylsulfate or urea, and the balance water is prepd. When a Ti alloy plate is subjected to finish pickling with the pickling soln., a mat finished surface suitable for a Ti alloy plate for an airplane is easily formed, the amount of hydrogen absorbed in the plate is kept small and the plate is made free from irregularity in the color and etching pits. |
