PURPOSE:To perform inspection in a short time without any destruction by arranging electrodes for detection at the outer periphery of a stator coil at a proper interval and applying a voltage between them and a stator coil to be inspected in a pressure-reduced vacuum container. CONSTITUTION:The two reticulate electrodes 8 for conduction detection which cover the outer periphery of the stator coil 2 at a certain interval are arranged in two arrays at a mutual interval and connected to the negative electrode of a power source 4 respectively. The positive electrode of the power source 4, on the other hand, is connected to the lead wire 3 of the coil 2. In this state, the vacuum container 9 is evacuated by using a vacuum pump 6. Then when a switch connected to the electrode 8 is turned on, a voltage is applied between the lead wire 3 and electrode 8 and a current flows owing to discharge in a pressure-reduced state if there is a flaw at the coil 2 encircled by the electrode 8, so the position of the flaw can be observed directly by a colored arc where the arc is generated and the presence of the flaw is also detected by a colored arc where the arc generated and the prsence of the flaw is also detected by an ammeter 5. |
