PURPOSE:To record plural different kinds of picture data on a single recording medium, and to reproduce only a required picture data in a good state, by constituting a device so as to switch the picture data recorded on the recording medium with a fixed cycle, and to read out selectively the same kind of picture data with a prescribed field interval at a selection and readout circuit in a reproducing time. CONSTITUTION:In a recording time, a recording picture change-over switch 10 is operated, and picture data V1 and V2 are written by every field alternately on a magnetic tape 1 through a write circuit 2. In the reproducing time, a selection and readout circuit 11 reads out the picture data V1 and V2 from the magnetic tape 1 with one field interval. At such a time, by constituting the device so that a part of the picture data outputted from the selection and readout circuit 11 is delayed by one field with a reproducing picture data delay circuit 12, and a consecutive picture forming switch 13 outputs alternately the picture data outputted from the selection and readout circuit 11, and the picture data, the one field of which is delayed with the reproducing picture data delay circuit 12, the residual image time of a CRT, etc., is corrected, thereby a good picture image can be obtained.
