PURPOSE:To obtain a positively preventing effect against breakdown of a clamp device by connecting a pressure room for a clamp of the hydraulic type clamp device with an accumulator and absorbing a sudden reaction force from the pressing part of the clamp device. CONSTITUTION:A gas compression type rubber bag-shaped accumulator 20 is connected with a pressure room 3a for a clamp of a hydraulic cylinder 3 of a hydraulic clamp device 1 fixing a metal die or a die plate on a machine. When the lower metal die 6 is temporarily downed by a pressing action pressure in a state in which the clamp device 1 is supplied with pressurized oil, the metal die 6 is pressed by supplying pressurized oil from the accumulator 20 to the pressure room 3a. When an upper die lifts to remove the pressing action pressure and the metal die 6 returns to the initial position, a rise in pressure of the pressure room 3a is absorbed by the accumulator 20. Thus, the positively preventing effect against breakdown of the clamp device 1 is obtained.
