摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium which has excellent durability and exhibits a good lubricating effect for a long period of time by forming a surface layer of a thin film contg. a magnetic material of an org. high-polymer material contg. a fluorine group. CONSTITUTION:The org. high-polymer film contg. a long-chain perfluoroalkyl group or perfluoropolyether group as a bond group is formed on a sliding surface with a head. For example, a polyamide acid soln. is mixed in a proper amt. with an acid chloride of a fluorine-contg. compd. and is brought into reaction therewith. Such mixture is mixed with a magnetic coating compd. and after the coating compd. is applied on a disk, the coating is subjected to a heating treatment to fix the polyimide contg. the perfluoropolyether group into the coated film. Part of the perfluoropolyether bond group is thus exposed on a medium surface and acts as a lubricating agent. The transfer and sticking of the lubricating component to the head is thereby obviated and the long-term lubricity is attained.
