Device for holding a picture tube panel P. The device comprises a supporting holder axle 3, which is attached in such a way that it can pivot to a horizontal axle 2 for an end-piece of a panel-carrying arm 1 and a panel holder plate 4 at the lower end of the supporting axle 3; two opposing panel holder arms 5a, 5b at the ends of the panel holder plate 4 are symmetrically placed in relation to the supporting holder axle 3 and they can be pivoted in relation to the horizontal axles 6a, 6b. The panel holders 7a, 7b for holding the panels are attached at the ends of the panel holder arms 5a, 5b; the device has two operating rods 8a, 8b of equal length for the holder, the outer ends of which are supported by the upper ends of the panel holder arms 5a, 5b in such a way that they can be pivoted. The ends situated nearer the centre pass through holes in spring-receiving plates 9a, 9b and they are supported in such a way that they can pivot by a rotating connection piece 10 which is attached to the supporting holder axle 3 in such a way that it can pivot, spiral springs 11a, 11b are attached in a compressed state between the outer ends of the operating rods 8a, 8b and the spring-receiving plates 9a, 9b and urge the holders 7a, 7b in the closing direction. <IMAGE>
