Device for cutting and storing plastic bags at the exit of a machine for manufacturing bags, comprising two rollers for entraining the film and two jaws for welding the film which are arranged downstream of the said rollers. The cutting blade 19 and its cutting edge are displaced over a rectilinear path in a horizontal plane, the said blade 19 being engaged via its free end in a groove 20 provided on the front vertical face of the lower jaw 5 when the latter is in the high position and against which a part of the film capable of coming into contact with the blade 19 in order to be cut bears through the action of an elastic member 23.
