Electrical connector for the telescopic connection of two assemblies 14, 16 moving axially with respect to each other, consisting of two connector housings 10, 12 each mounted on one of the two respective assemblies, characterised in that it comprises: - a first connector housing 10 which includes a main body 18 fixed to a first 14 of the two assemblies, with respect to which it is immobilised, which is extended by an orientation ferrule (bush) 30 projecting forwards and fitted at its periphery with a fixed angular-orientation stud 32; - a second connector housing 12 which includes a main body 42 fitted with an angular-orientation sheath 50 which includes an axial slot 58 into which the said angular-orientation stud 32 penetrates during the telescopic coupling of the two electrical connecter housings, the entrance of the said orientation slot including a flared angular-orientation profile 60 with which the said orientation stud 32 interacts when it engages in the said slot; - a socket (holder) 76 for mounting the said second connector housing on the second of the said two assemblies, with respect to which the main body 42 of the second housing 12 can move axially, transversely and angularly when the two connector housings are being coupled telescopically, the said socket (holder) being fixed to and immobilised on the said second assembly 16; and - means 88 for holding main body of the second housing in the said mounting socket (holder) which limit the said axial and angular movements. <IMAGE>
