PURPOSE:To obtain a dye image rapidly and stably by carrying out processing with a color developing soln. contg. >=1.5X10<-2>mol at least one kind of specified color developing agent under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:Processing is carried out with a color developing soln. of >=10.3pH at >=30 deg.C for <=120sec. The developing soln. contains >=1.5X10<-2>mol at least one kind of p-phenylenediamine type color developing agent represented by the formula (where n=2, 3 or 4, R1 is 1-6C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl, R2 is H, 1-6C alkyl, hydroxyalkyl or 1-6C alkoxyalkyl and R3 is H, 1-6C alkyl or alkoxy). The solvent in the developing soln. is composed of water, a solvent (a) having <0.4logP and a solvent (b) having >=0.4logP. The volume ratio of the solvent (b) to the solvent (a) is <=0.003. An effect is produced only by combining the specified color developing agent with the specified pH of the color developing soln. and a specified silver halide emulsion. It is necessary that at least one of the photosensitive emulsion layers of a silver halide color photographic sensitive material to be processed is made practically of a silver chlorobromide emulsion but it is preferable that all of the photosensitive emulsion layers are made of the silver chlorobromide emulsion.
