PURPOSE:To obtain the shielded metal arc welding body having excellent falling by specifying the crystal distortion factor of the scale crystal fitted on the core wire base. CONSTITUTION:The crystal distortion factor of the scale crystal fitted on the core wire base: {(observed grid constant - JCPDS card grid constant)/JCPDS card grid constant)} X 100 is taken as 0.01-0.50%. The crystal distortion factor of the scale can be controlled by the conditions (temp. and time, etc.) in the drying to be performed after coating a flux on the core wire. The JCPDS card grid constant means the grid constant specified in the diffraction data of the card of a Joint Committee on Power Diffraction Standards.
