PURPOSE:To increase freedom of design of an idler shaft by arranging a planetary gear type speed reduction mechanism part on the idler shaft of an automatic transaxle thereby making a final drive mechanism part small-sized. CONSTITUTION:An automatic transaxle 12 connected to an engine 10 has a torque converter 14, an automatic transmission mechanism part 16, an idler shaft 18, a planetary gear type speed reduction mechanism part 20 and a final drive mechanism part 22. Torque of the engine 10 is transmitted, after being inputted via the torque converter 14 to the automatic transmission mechanism part 16 and undergoing a specified speed change, to the idler shaft 18 via a drive gear 24 and a driven gear 26. The revolution of the idler shaft 18, after undergoing a specified speed reduction through the planetary gear type speed reduction mechanism part 20, is transmitted to an idler gear 36. Namely, since the revolution of the idler shaft 18 is inputted to a sun gear 28 and an internal gear 30 is fixed, a pinion carrier 34 turns at a slower speed than the shaft 18.
