PURPOSE:To make a sliding cover close without fail when a tape cassette is taken out from a cassette holder by providing a locking release projecting guide groove bottom surface on which an uneven surface is formed on the lower face of a sliding cover. CONSTITUTION:A tape cassette is inserted into a cassette holder while keeping a sliding cover in the front. A locking claw 9 is pushed up by a sliding cover lock releasing projection provided in the cassette holder, and the locking to the closing position is released. The sliding cover 3 is abutted with the sliding cover releasing projection and stops at the position, and only the body 1 of the cassette is inserted further, and the sliding cover 3 is released. By taking out the tape cassette, the locking of opened sliding cover 3 to the open position is released, and at the same time, the cover is closed by restoring force. An uneven face 10 is provided on the bottom surface of a lock releasing projecting guide groove 6 formed on the lower face of the sliding cover, and thereby the coupling with the lock releasing projection made of soft resilient high friction material such as rubber, etc., becomes sure, and the closing of the sliding cover 3 in case of taking out the cassette can be made sure.
